Balloon Races.. are a fun way to raise money, advertise and attract media attention. We have a standard layout race card which is numbered. There is a choice of coloured card but the print is single sided, with black ink. This can be adapted with your race details.

Balloons we recommend standard colour 10" diameter.

Balloon Gas we recommend you match the quantity of balloons entered into your race or release to the capacity of the gas tank to maximise profit. 

Do...

• Choose a sheltered spot to fill balloons and pack into the release net
• Fix release nets firmly so they can not be accidentally released
• Use helium grade latex balloons (at least 10" diameter)    

 Don't...

• Inflate balloons more than 4 hrs before release time
• Add ribbons, strings, plastic seals etc, to balloons being released
• Release foil balloons
• Mass release balloons within 5km of an airfield without permission from air traffic control. Balloon Mad take no responsibility for air traffic clearance or balloons not directly released by us.

Balloon Releases... Always good for media attention and as a focal point for an event. They require similar arrangements as races but are a lot simpler. No Tickets to sell or prizes to find. The other tips and requirements for the race i.e. balloons, Gas, nets etc. apply as above.   

Environmental issues

Latex balloons are a natural bio-degradable product & production of latex balloons helps sustain many acres of rain forest. This in turn provides work for people in non industrialised areas of the world as the latex has to be hand tapped from the trees. It takes a latex balloon about the same time to decompose as an oak leaf. Helium as is a naturally occurring gas (element) which is present in the air we breathe. The race cards are paper which is a wood product and rapidly decomposes. Plastic seals should not be used on balloons to be released as they are not bio - degradable.
